What Do We Do?

Currently, we care for children ages 1-12, from 6:30-5:30.  During the school year, some children come early to catch the bus from here, and then return for the After School program. The After-schoolers have a snack and get homework help upon arrival at the center. During the summer months, our 3-12 year-olds are involved in the Summer Program with field trips and other activities.

We have wonderful outside play spaces, for the littlest ones- and the older children in a safe environment! Throughout the year, we celebrate the seasons- with Fall activities, A Thanksgiving feast, Christmas activities, and an Easter egg hunt!

We’ve done service projects like St. Judes Bike-a-thon, and The Neuse River Bridge Run-Kids Run- to raise money for others while learning about being helpers! We love to have the involvement of parents, and grandparents to create a true family experience for our children!

It truly takes a village—we’d love to have you join us as we learn and play together.

Why Child Care at Pollocksville Presbyterian?

Many events led our church to establish an after-school program in 1993, and a full-time child care program in 1995: a new Education Building, a mission- minded minister, Governor Jim Hunt’s early childhood initiative, an expressed need for child care in the community, and the belief that the church was called by God to care for children while their parents work.

The Center opened under North Carolina’s A rating, and through participation in a NC Quality Enhancement Program, quickly achieved AA rating. The Center now holds the NC Four-Star License and continues to serve the Church in mission to the community by providing the safest, kindest, and highest quality care possible, and in guiding each child to experience and respond to God’s love.
